About Life

I have not been painting, nor have I been marketing my art. My mother has been in the hospital, and it involved another trip to Colorado, this time for entirely different reasons. The good news is that she is out now, and I am home in Joshua Tree once more. I was happy that I could go and be with my parents and my sister, who travelled from Washington state. It felt better to be there, where I could hold my mother's hand, and see her face. If there is any one thing I have learned in my life, it is that there is nothing more important than the people I love.

So I guess what I have to tell you about life is not earth shattering, or even particularly enlightened. Only that I find it has a way of throwing these crazy, unexpected curve balls at you. I am trying hard not to duck, but rather to keep my eye on that ball, so that I might either hit it, or, if it is going to hit me, maybe I can move enough so that it hits in a less vunerable place.

Here is one more new painting, a tiny oil on canvas.

And the dog, with his favorite, de-stuffed bear.

I am so glad your mother is feeling better. I understand how precious life is after my sisters unexpected death, 2 weeks later my mother had a fairly bad heart attack, and I thought I could not take any more stress. But I went back to be with my mother as soon as I heard of the attack and stayed with her through the opeeration and recovery, and since have moved her out to where I live, and she is now quite content and happy. And I am relieved that she is near me. As I get older I feel the effects of family more and more... Anyway glad you are back....

Times like these change us in ways that we could never have imagined.
I'm so glad to hear that your mother is better.
ps:i found that the family pet ususally gives an unbelievable amount of comfort and sustenance during difficult times.

My best to your mom -- I hope she is feeling much better now. And I hope that your stress level is much lower!

Oh, yes I know about those times. Glad to hear that your mom is out of the hospital again, I hope she is feeling better soon.
We had those funny balls flying at us when our daughter was born in August this year. A couple days later, my husband got a call from the US that his Mom died. That was for sure a shock! I guess everybody knows how those bally like to appear when you don't really expect them.
