Here are some more photos from yesterday. The snow is melting, but not as quickly as I thought it would. It was only 26 degrees when I woke up this morning! Am I sure this is Southern California??? No. I mean, I guess it is.
The snow looks so wonderful and sparkly in the sun.
Oh, and graduate school. Well, I have been thinking of getting my MFA in studio art (painting) for a while now. I can't seem to make up my mind, one way or another. Sometimes, I really want to do it, sometimes, I really don't want to do it. Finally, at the suggestion of my husband, I decided I would apply to some schools, and see if I actually get accepted. If I get accepted, I can still decide NOT to go, but I can also decide to go. Is it some kind of mental disorder that I can't make this decision? Three years just seems like a really long time. And of course the money is a bit daunting. And yes, Priya, I do have an undergraduate degree in art. The thing a Master's degree would do for me is it would enable me to teach art at the college level. That would be fun. So, we shall see.

One letter of recommendation (that I was privy to see and comment on) is fabulous. I have no doubt that you WILL be accepted to Grad School.
Three years may seem long but it goes by quickly. It sounds like a great undertaking that would open up new doors and avenues in your world, your art career, your art expression.

oh wowsers! the desert snow is amazing! i love seeing the snowcapped cacti. and grad school! oh i would so go for it...no pressure, but life is so short and what better to dive more into your art with daily inspiration and direction. i think it would help push you in ways you could never know. i've been wanting to go for awhile now, but well, it will wait since the baby is coming! but that's ok too, i'll go someday. good luck. and thanks for sharing all. so exciting.

Ohhhh....you got lots more snow than we did! So pretty with the blue sky.
We're expecting snow through Christmas which is both exciting and daunting.

gosh! everything looks beautiful. and snow on joshua trees looks funny. i wish i could be there now.
i did a Masters at Australia some twelve years ago. the great thing is that it allows you to zoom in and focus in ways one never thought possible. and then afterwards the gates of the mind open as never before.
you are fortunate to have so many good art colleges in your country. all those years ago (pre internet era), for me it was like taking a trip to outer space.
Beautiful photos. Good luck with your decision. You have a very smart husband to recommend applying. I think the act of doing will help you make your decision.
Hi Karine, oh my what a wonderful landscape!!!! Desert in snow! Fantastic and this blue sky. wow! I envy you right now......we still have this grey sky falling on us............gets old after awhile. I still hope for snow on Christmas, so let's see. In the meanwhile I enjoy your wonderful photos of white Desert wonderland!

high desert snow is just gorgeous! i like your strategy of applying to some grad schools and then making the big decision later. just stick your big toe in the water and wait to see what nibbles youu get. smile!
